Working on
Shopify (2026–Present)
After ten years building Ada, I joined Shopify. I am working on AI assistants that can take on larger projects and keep making progress beyond a single conversation.
On weekends, I am helping Dan Debow build a new musical instrument. I mostly work on the firmware, Bluetooth connection and mobile app. It is a fun change from building software that only lives on a screen.
I still believe in the old-school vision of the web as a network of personal documents, published independently and linked together.
This is where I write about software, AI and whatever else I am thinking about. It is also an excuse to keep making a website by hand.
